PoE2 Update 0.2.0: Weapon Lock, New Support Gems, and More!

Path of Exile 2’s next content update is looking to be an exciting one! Grinding Gear Games has shared a teaser of some of the upcoming changes in Update 0.2.0, including a Weapon Lock system, new Support Gems, and continued improvements to visual and audio fidelity.

Weapon Lock: Keep Your Favorite Gear Across Weapon Sets

One of the biggest quality-of-life additions in this update is Weapon Lock, a feature that allows you to lock your main hand, off-hand, or both so that the same item stays equipped across both weapon sets. This means no more accidentally swapping out weapons when switching sets, and no more looking for twice the same weapon to equip!

New Support Gems: Battershout and Perfection

As part of the ongoing effort to work on skill customization, two new Support Gems have also been revealed:

• Battershout: Supports Warcry Skills. Supported Skills trigger Physical Damage explosions on Enemies within their range who have Fully Broken Armour but cannot themselves Break Armor.
• Perfection: Supports Skills which have a benefit for Perfectly Timing their use. On successfully executing Perfect Timing with Supported Skills, gain Perfection, which is a powerful damage buff. However, failing to execute any Perfect Timing (even with skills not supported by Perfection) will remove all Perfection on you.

Visual Upgrades: A New Look for Essences

GGG is also continuing to work on Path of Exile 2’s visual and audio design, to make the game feel more immersive. The latest showcase highlights an upgraded look for Essences, giving them a more distinct and polished appearance, as you can see below.
